ST. JOHN’S, N.L. — Local lawyer and former Progressive Conservative leader Ches Crosbie was among the crowds of protesters and counter-protesters at the Confederation Building on Wednesday advocating for and against LGBTQ-inclusive education. He mainly stood among those participating in the nationwide “1 Million March 4 Children,” which advocates against schools teaching children about gender and sexual diversity. “The group up there is the LGBT alphabet salad group,” Crosbie said about a group of counter-protesters. “Personally, I think that I’m not in favour of the sexualization of children. “I think that deciding to change your gender identification and making irreversible drug therapy or surgery is something that a (young) person shouldn’t do. Make that decision when they’re of maturity enough to do that. So that’s my point of view on it,” he said.
