Transgender immigrants find a safe place in Portugal

Lisbon’s immigrant community already face discrimination in all areas of life – from work to housing: amid the pandemic some now face eviction after falling behind on their rent. But the residents of Casa T in Lisbon, all from former Portuguese colonies have founded the country’s first shelter for trans immigrants – and it’s become a rare sanctuary from discrimination, as Kiran Moodley reports.
