The situation for LGBTI people in Senegal continues to deteriorate. Homophobic marches are organized and arrests are carried out against LGBTI people. In August 2020, the Free Collective was created to defend their rights. It set up a secret shelter for persecuted LGBTI people, offered legal aid and medical care, and visited people in prison.
