The social network “VKontakte” began to mark with a special plate the communities in which the so-called LGBT content can be posted. When you try to enter a group that contains entries on LGBT topics, an inscription appears: “There may be controversial materials in the community. Some community materials may be considered inadmissible under the laws of the Russian Federation.” It is noted that users in Russia will see a special warning plate. VKontakte explained that these precautions are related to the requirement of a number of Russian laws, including “On information, information technologies and information protection”, “On the protection of children from information harmful to their health and development”, as well as adopted in early December, a law banning LGBT propaganda.
