Frustrated parents are seeking alternative school places for kids after Parkfield School announced it was resuming No Outsiders programme. The parents of around 20 pupils have told Parkfield School they intend to quit over the LGBT teaching row. The primary school, in Alum Rock, announced this month it was reinstating a new version of its No Outsiders equality programme from September, following weeks of consultation with parents and community leaders. The award-winning programme has been re-written, some books removed and others added in a bid to “respect sensitivities expressed through parent consultation,” said executive head Hazel Pulley. But the changes have not gone far enough for some parents, who remain unhappy about LGBT elements of the programme.
