NHS Scotland is planning to remove ‘barriers’ to irreversible operations for transgender patients, a report has revealed. The new transgender treatment rules, which The Telegraph says it has seen, will reportedly see operations made more widely available including mastectomies, breast implants and genital reassignment, as well as hormone treatments. The report calls for ‘barriers’ to gender reassignment surgery, which can ‘benefit’ trans patients, to be removed, according to The Telegraph.
