In a first, Gurugram administration organises Covid vaccination for transgender community, sex workers

In a unique initiative by the Gurugram administration, a special vaccination camp was organised for the transgender community and sex workers, who live in the Millennium City. Around 200 people were vaccinated at this special camp, organised by the CMO of Gurugram. This, following a directive from the state health department of Haryana. Speaking to Times network, Dr. Virendra Yadav, CMO of Gurugram said “In the first batch, vaccines were administered to those who were hesitant to go to a regular vaccination centre”. Sex workers and transgenders who came for the jabs, said they were thankful to the health department. They even celebrated by dancing at the vaccination centre.
