People who loved Elise Malary gathered in Andersonville Sunday night in front of a brick wall filled with memories. “Her voice was soft. Her tongue was sharp. Her love is forever.” “Her heart was bigger than the universe.” “Her smile.” Family and friends of Malary, 31, became concerned about the Evanston activist’s whereabouts when she stopped responding to them on March 9, and some began posting flyers to get the word out. On Saturday afternoon, authorities confirmed Malary’s body had been positively identified after the Evanston police and fire departments responded to Garden Park on the Lake Michigan shoreline in the 500 block of Sheridan Square on Thursday evening after a woman was sighted in the water.
