A dance club for LGBT elders will be held in South Australia for the first time, as part of the Adelaide Cabaret Festival. The free event is open to members and allies of the community and will feature dance lessons and performances from festival entertainers. Adelaide LGBT identity Dr Gertrude Glossip, whose alter ego is William Sergeant, said it was a chance to have a good time and to acknowledge the generation that fought for gay and lesbian rights. “Things are much more open … [I’m] very excited to have an event like this in a mainstream program.” The dance club has been organised by the Melbourne-based arts company All The Queens Men, which creates community-building projects.
