4/3/21

Albanian police are being trained on how to identify and investigate hate crimes against LGBTI people, through a joint EU and Council of European action called “Promotion of Diversity and Equality in Albania” which is a part of the Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey. Part of the training involves the distribution of a manual which will be used as a practical tool for police trainers, managers, investigators, hate crime officers, and those on the front line. The first set of some 400 manuals were distributed at the Police Academy, General Police Directory, and various police stations in the capital of Tirana. An event was held to introduce the manual, organized in collaboration with Aleanca LGBT, Pro LGBT and the Albanian State Police.
