A coalition of African LGBTQ+ rights group has announced plans for a continent-wide celebration of Pride. Africa Pride 2024 events will consist of online programs and a variety of public and private in-person gatherings, depending on local conditions, including safety and security issues. The celebrations in Africa will be supplemented by supporters’ Pride events throughout the world and throughout the year. Many of the activities will be held at the end of Pride Month 2024 on Stonewall Weekend, June 28-30. Additional celebrations will be held as part of the Berlin Pride march on July 27 with a focus on support for Namibia Pride and the LGBTQIA+ community in Namibia, a former colony of Germany.
