Democratic presidential hopefuls will take to another stage in October to discuss their stances on issues pertaining to the LGBT community. CNN and LGBT advocacy group the Human Rights Campaign announced on Wednesday, that they will be partnering to host the event on Oct. 10 at Washington town hall. The Human Rights Campaign have stated that the event comes at a critical time in the fight to achieve equality for LGBTQ, specifically after the current Trump administration introduced curtailing policies such as banning transgender Americans from serving in the military, prohibiting embassies from flying rainbow flags during Pride Month and rolling back certain Obama-era nondiscrimination protections. Six out of the ten qualifying candidates have confirmed attendance, one of which is openly gay Mayor Pete Buttigieg.  All participating Democrats have supported passage of the Equality Act, federal legislation that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity
